Henna Mehndi Design
Artist Megan M. K. Kennedy
As an artist with over three decades of experience, I have honed my skills across various mediums such as graphite pencil, colored pencil, oil paints, and fine art prints. Recently, I have expanded my creative repertoire to include the art of henna.
In the spirit of continual growth and exploration, I recently ventured into the realm of Henna Mehndi design. Since November of 2022, I have dedicated myself to mastering the art of Henna/Mehndi design, seeking to blend tradition with contemporary design.
When it comes to Henna application, I prioritize the safety and comfort of my clients above all else. I want to reassure you that Henna is intended to be a gentle stain that should never cause discomfort or any burning sensation on the skin. While allergic reactions can occur, I am vigilant about using only natural brown henna sourced from trusted suppliers like Gopihenna on YouTube. These henna cones are organic and completely free from black hair dye, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for every client.
I remain dedicated to ensuring quality craftsmanship and prioritizing client well-being, while creating stunning Henna designs that resonate with your individual style and aesthetics.
Henna After Care & Instructions
1.Drying Time: Allow the henna to dry for approximately half an hour to an hour. During this period, be cautious as the henna may smudge.
2.Maximize Duration: For best results, keep the henna on the skin for as long as possible. The longer it stays, the darker and longer lasting the stain will be. Aim for a minimum of one to two hours.
3.Safe Removal: As the henna begins to flake off, remember that the natural henna used is eco-friendly but can still stain surfaces. It is recommended to remove the henna over a trash can to prevent any staining.
4.Post-Application Care: Avoid washing the henna-stained area for 24 to 48 hours. If not possible, refrain from washing the tattoo at least until the next morning.
5.Color Development: Initially appearing as an orange stain, the henna will gradually darken into a rich brown shade within 24-48 hours.
How long will the stain last?
Henna is a paste derived from a plant that leaves a beautiful stain on the skin. While not a permanent tattoo, it can last anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks, sometimes even longer.
To ensure the longevity and beauty of your henna design, it is advisable to steer clear of exposure to chlorine, saltwater, soaps, and cleaning agents. Maintaining your henna's vibrancy requires no major adjustments to your bathing routine; feel free to bathe and shower as usual. However, be cautious as hand sanitizers, exfoliants, and acetone can quicken the fading process of the henna stain.
If you start noticing the design becoming patchy or freckled and desire its removal sooner, consider employing gentle exfoliation techniques. Opt for a loofah, bath stone, or skin scrub to aid in the gentle fading of your henna design. Enjoy your henna experience to the fullest while taking proper care of your unique skin art.
Come back and visit me for a Complimentary Henna Tattoo Touch-Up!
I would like the henna stain to remain vibrant for an extended period, so I would appreciate it if you could return for a complimentary touch-up session within one week. The touch-up procedure is faster and easier compared to the initial application, ensuring that your henna tattoo continues to look its best for as long as possible.
