Kids Yoga Classes

  • Animal Yoga

Welcome to our Kids Animal Yoga Class!

In animal yoga we embark on a fun and exciting adventure through the world of animals with yoga. Yoga is a great way to stretch our bodies, calm our minds, and have a lot of fun at the same time!

In class we mimic different animals through various yoga poses. We will move and stretch like lions, balance like flamingos, and relax like turtles. So, get ready to roar, flutter, and crawl as we explore the animal kingdom through yoga.

Remember, there's no right or wrong way to do yoga. Just have fun, listen to your body, and most importantly, let your imagination run wild!

  • Weather Yoga

    Welcome to Weather Yoga!

Are you ready to have some fun while learning about different types of weather through yoga? Today, we are going to stretch, move, and pretend to be different elements of nature.

We will start with a sunny warm-up to get our bodies ready for the day. Stretch our arms up high, just like the bright sun shining in the sky. Then, on to some raindrop poses. Let's bend and stretch like rain falling from the clouds.

After the rain, we will try some windy poses, imagine swaying like a tree in the strong wind. Then, we will calm down with some snowflake poses, softly falling to the ground in peaceful stillness.

Let's get ready to have a blast in our Weather Yoga class! Enjoy the journey of movement and nature exploration ahead!

  • Shapes Yoga

Welcome to Kids Shapes Yoga Class!

In this yoga class we bend into different shapes through yoga poses. Yoga is not only a great way to move and stretch our bodies, but it also helps us relax and focus our minds.

Throughout our class, we will be exploring poses that mimic various shapes like triangles, squares, circles, and more. Remember, it's not about being perfect; it's about having fun and trying our best.

So, let's all get ready to stretch, bend, and shape up together as we embark on this exciting yoga journey! This a great class for the younger yogis.

My name is Megan McBride-Kennedy, and I have been teaching kids yoga since May of 2023. In 2022 and 2023, I was fortunate to undergo comprehensive training to earn my kids yoga certification under the guidance of Shirley Smithson. This training profoundly influenced my teaching style and fueled my creativity when orchestrating engaging and beneficial yoga classes for children.

The joy I derive from crafting innovative yoga classes and visually appealing posters dedicated to kids' yoga is immeasurable. With every session, I aim to create a nurturing and enriching environment where children not only learn the physical postures but also cultivate mindfulness and inner peace.

In the summer of 2024, my passion for kids' yoga will extend to my family as well. My daughter is set to embark on her journey as a kids yoga instructor assistant under the mentorship of Shirley Smithson.

I am excited about the potential to introduce more children to the transformative practice of yoga and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on young minds through the art of kids yoga instruction.

Kids Yoga Class Posters

By Megan K M Kennedy

I create posters that vividly illustrate various yoga poses as a fun and engaging way to introduce children to the art of yoga.

These posters serve as visual aids that not only demonstrate the correct form of each pose but also add a playful element to the learning process. By incorporating colorful images and simple instructions, kids can easily follow along and practice the poses showcased on the posters. This interactive approach helps children develop their strength, flexibility, and mindfulness while exploring the world of yoga.
